| 70 y/o woman wheelchair-bound due to
severe diffuse back pain over the last year. She is on home oxygen for
advanced pulmonary fibrosis which has been treated with steroids over the
years. The bone scan shows varying degrees of increased activity at
T8,10,12, L1-5, although it's tough to tell on this image (my 9 year old
daughter Rebecca said "It's kind of blurry"). I didn't think I needed an MR
though. Initially, I told the patient and her family that the most vertebroplasties I had done at one time was 5 levels, and that we could probably do that many depending on how she tolerated it. I let her daughters and son watch from the control room. |
